The Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital is the 3rd largest hospital in the world as well as the largest hospital in Africa. It is a teaching hospital for the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School. 99% of its patients are black. HIFU treatment there for fibroids and adenomyosis is free of charge. Last September, the Hospital held a HIFU training workshop funded by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, training 22 doctors from 13 countries.
